Your mission

For our significantly growing Data, AI & MarketingTech Department, we are looking a technical team lead for one of our data teams. The team is established to focus on GenAI use case development for client facing product features as well as for increasing efficiencies of internal processes among other data related topics.
 
As Data Team Lead you are playing a pivotal role in Smartbroker’s data & AI journey. You will lead and mentor great talents and work at the intersection of business, data, and technology, drive innovation and data & AI adoption throughout the organization. Your team is responsible for generating significant business value through data, enabling data & AI driven decision making across departments, while ensuring compliance with data regulations.

Job Description 
  • Lead a team of highly skilled and motivated data & analytics engineers, AI / ML engineers, act as mentor for team members supporting them growing and unfolding their full potential 
  • Develop and maintain the technical AI and machine learning infrastructure 
  • Manage machine learning and Gen AI use case implementation using LLMs and RAG 
  • Build AI and data features in close collaboration with product engineering teams
  • Be responsible for our cloud-based AI infrastructure, drive continuous improvement, manage data access, ensure compliant data handling and platform security 
  • Manage end-to-end implementation of efficient data and AI pipelines according to our data consumers‘ needs up to consumable data & AI products 
  • Own the technical implementation and components of your team as well as their operation and maintenance 
  • Development and integration of data governance tools, e.g., automated data deletions or tracking consent management 
  • Be responsible for technical integration of certain data & AI related external tools, e.g. for Marketing 
  • Closely collaborate with data consumers across the organization incl. Management, Product , Marketing, Finance, Client Support and Operations 

Your profile

  • University degree in a technical field: computer science, business informatics, natural sciences, or similar 
  • Expert knowledge on state-of-the-art AI use cases, agentic applications and best practices
  • Expert knowledge in machine learning, generative AI, LLMs & RAG, AI agents and related technical tools (OpenAI, LangChain , Langfuse …) 
  • Very good python & SQL programming skills, Java is a plus 
  • Deep technical knowledge of modern cloud based AI platforms (GCP/AWS)
  • Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, Google Analytics is a plus
  • Deep knowledge of Software Engineering best practices—from requirements specification, version control, CI/CD, and testing to deployment and monitoring of data pipelines and services 
  • Familiarity with data & AI security, data regulations, data privacy requirements 
  • Strong people and stakeholder management skills 
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset, experience in leading and mentoring talents, strong sense of ownership 
  • Strong English communication and presentation skills, German is a plus 
  • Interest in finance and fintech industry and a sense of humor
